Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) announced a series of recent developments in the Middle East and Africa as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker continues its rapid overseas market expansion.
The company recently held a brand launch event in Doha, Qatar, marking its official entry into this premium Middle Eastern market, Xpeng said in a release today.
At the event, Xpeng introduced the G9 and G6 SUVs (sport utility vehicles), and announced the upcoming local launch of the P7+ sedan.
The company also showcased products from its flying car subsidiary, Aridge, during the event.
The entry into Qatar represents a step in deepening Xpeng’s footprint in the Middle East and Africa region, laying the groundwork for future expansion into the Gulf region, the company said.

“Qatar will serve as a vital gateway for us to connect with global users, showcase cutting-edge smart technologies, and deliver premium mobility experiences,” said Wang Ke, general manager of Xpeng’s Middle East and Africa region.
Xpeng signed an agreement in September 2024 designating Pioneer Motors — a subsidiary of Qatar’s Almana Group — as its exclusive distributor in Qatar.
The company had originally planned to launch the G9, G6, and P7 sedans in Qatar by the end of 2024, according to a statement at the time.
Xpeng also announced today its strategic partnership with Axess Limited, a prominent Mauritian distributor, on December 16, marking its entry into this key Eastern African market.

The partnership further enhances Xpeng’s sales and service network in the Middle East and Africa region, solidifying its global strategic footprint, the company said.
Collaboration with Axess Limited will provide critical experience for Xpeng’s future expansion in Africa and other emerging markets, it added.
Xpeng has revealed further progress in the Middle East and Africa. Earlier this month, the company opened a new flagship experience center in Abu Dhabi, UAE, aimed at enhancing brand awareness and user experience.
Xpeng’s new showroom and service center in Egypt also recently opened. The new showroom spans 400 square meters, while the new service center covers 2,000 square meters, making it the largest dedicated Xpeng service center in the Middle East and Africa region.
The company launched an accessories warehouse in Dubai in October, providing faster parts support for models like the G6 and G9.
This marks Xpeng’s second localized production project in Asia-Pacific and third globally, with mass production slated for 2026.
