Geely Auto narrowly meets 2025 sales target as Dec growth slows

Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) saw sales growth slow last month, barely meeting its 2025 sales target.

The automaker sold 236,817 vehicles in December, marking a 13 percent year-on-year increase but a 23.71 percent decline from November, according to data released today.

By comparison, Geely Auto’s sales growth exceeded 35 percent year-on-year each month from February to October.

The year-end weakness was partly attributed to multiple Chinese cities suspending vehicle purchase trade-in subsidies starting mid-November, impacting the broader automotive industry.

Throughout 2025, Geely Auto sold 3,024,567 vehicles, achieving its 3-million-unit target.

The company announced today that its 2026 sales target is 3.45 million units, representing a 14 percent increase over 2025.

Of this total, the Geely brand targets 2.75 million units, Zeekr 300,000 units, and Lynk & Co 400,000 units.

Geely Auto aims to sell 2.22 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2026, a 32 percent increase over 2025.

In December, the company sold 79,131 battery electric vehicles (BEVs), a 2.82 percent year-on-year increase but a 22.88 percent decrease from November.

Its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales in December were 75,133 units, surging 119 percent year-on-year but declining 11.81 percent from November.

Sub-brand Geely Galaxy sold 100,694 units in December, up 45 percent year-on-year but down 24.09 percent from November.

Including Geely Galaxy, the Geely brand recorded December sales of 172,799 units, a 10.22 percent increase year-on-year but a 29.91 percent decrease from November.

The Zeekr brand delivered a record 33,751 vehicles in December, marking a 24.13 percent year-on-year increase and a 17.02 percent rise compared to November.

Lynk & Co delivered 30,267 vehicles in December, reflecting a 16.03 percent year-on-year growth but a 13.67 percent decrease from November.

Geely Auto exported 40,310 vehicles in December, a 64.35 percent increase year-on-year but a 4.23 percent decrease compared to November.

In 2025, it exported 418,904 vehicles, a 3.59 percent increase year-on-year.

Its domestic sales in China reached 196,507 units in December, up 5.92 percent year-on-year but down 26.77 percent from November.

In 2025, the company sold 2,605,663 vehicles domestically in China, marking a 47.03 percent increase year-on-year.
