The Hyper HT is being offered in four versions in pre-sale, three of which are based on the 800-volt high-voltage platform, with the top-of-the-line version featuring falcon-wing doors similar to those on the Tesla Model X.

Hyper, a sub-brand of GAC Aion, has unveiled a new model, the Hyper HT, and has begun pre-sales of it, one version of which features falcon-wing doors similar to those on the Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model X.

Hyper officially unveiled the Hyper HT, its third model and the brand’s first SUV, at a launch event last night.

The Hyper HT is a mid-to-large-sized all-electric SUV with a pre-sale starting price of RMB 220,000 yuan ($30,080).

The model measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,935 mm. It will be available in four pre-sale variants, all of which are rear-wheel-drive, single-motor models.

The Hyper HT’s entry-level version has an electric motor with peak power of 180 kW and peak torque of 355 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The other three versions all have motors with peak power of 250 kW and peak torque of 430 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 5.8 seconds.

Hyper has not announced pre-sale prices for each of the four models, but apparently the version with the falcon-wing doors will sell for the highest price, which also comes with three LiDARs, while none of the other versions have them.

The entry-level version of the Hyper HT is based on a conventional 400-volt platform and can get a range of 140 kilometers on a 10-minute charge at the fastest, with a CLTC range of 600 kilometers on a full charge.

Its other three models are built on the 800-volt high-voltage platform, two of which have a CLTC range of 670 kilometers and can get 415 kilometers on a 15-minute charge.

The version with the falcon-wing doors has a CLTC range of 770 kilometers and can get 450 kilometers of range on a 10-minute charge, according to the company.

Hyper is the premium brand unveiled by GAC Aion on September 15, 2022 and debuted the Hyper SSR supercar at that time.

On July 3 of this year, Hyper officially launched its first production model, the Hyper GT, in China, and the 20 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) produced in the country.

The model is aimed at the mainstream mid-to-high-end market and is currently available in seven versions with a starting price range of RMB 219,900 to RMB 339,900. Its delivery started in July.

On October 9, Hyper officially launched the Hyper SSR electric supercar with three versions and starting prices of RMB 1,286,000, RMB 1,386,000 and RMB 1,686,000 respectively.

While announcing the official launch of the Hyper SSR, Hyper delivered the model to its first owners.

GAC Aion sold a record 51,596 vehicles in September, up 71.89 percent from 30,016 in the same month last year, and up 14.58 percent from 45,029 in August, according to figures it announced on October 1.

    ($1 = RMB 7.3135)

GAC Aion officially launches Hyper SSR electric supercar, starting at $176,380
