    BYD Oct sales breakdown: Song 63,965, Seagull 43,350

    With 63,965 units sold in October, the Song family continues to rank as the top-selling BYD model, up 1.79 percent from September.

    BYD yesterday reported record new energy vehicle (NEV) sales of 301,833 units in October, and later shared breakdown figures showing the performance of different models.

    The Song family continued to rank as the top-selling BYD model with 63,965 units sold in October, up 12.53 percent year-on-year and up 1.79 percent from September.

    From January to October, Song family models sold 495,016 units, up 42.50 percent year-on-year.

    The BYD brand’s model range includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, and the Song family models on sale include the Song Pro DM-i and Song Max DM-i of the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i of the Ocean series.

    BYD’s Dynasty series of Song models sold 22,771 units in October, up 0.42 percent from 22,675 in September.

    Its Ocean series of Song models sold 41,194 units in October, up 2.56 percent from 40,165 in September.

    BYD began pre-sales of the Song L, the Song family’s new model in the Dynasty lineup, on October 31, though official sales and deliveries have not yet begun.

    The Seagull sold 43,350 units in October, up 8.13 percent from September, surpassing the sales of the Qin family to become the second highest selling BYD model.

    The BYD Seagull was launched on April 26 at a starting price of RMB 73,800 ($10,090), making it the cheapest BYD model. The model sold 185,089 units from April to October.

    The BYD Qin family sold 42,767 units in October, up 23.35 percent year-on-year but down 5.11 percent from 45,072 units in September.

    The Qin family was the third best-selling BYD model in October.

    The Qin family models were BYD’s top sellers from March through June, but were overtaken by the Song family in July and then by the Seagull last month.

    From January to October, BYD sold 393,311 units of the Qin family models, up 33.53 percent year-on-year.

    The BYD Yuan family sold 41,449 units in October, up 50.46 percent year-on-year and up 26.15 percent from September.

    From January to October, the BYD Yuan family sold 344,576 units, up 102.51 percent year-on-year.

    The BYD Yuan family is once again back to the 40,000 units per month level, last time it was 40,400 units in March.

    The Dolphin sold 35,189 units in October, up 38.89 percent year-on-year and up 6.87 percent from September, making it the fifth best-selling BYD model last month.

    In the January-October period, the BYD Dolphin sold 295,659 units, up 92.89 percent year-on-year.

    BYD’s flagship sedan, the Han, sold 20,267 units in October, down 35.89 percent year-on-year and down 11.09 percent from September.

    In the January-October period, the Han family of models sold 187,089 units, down 11.83 percent year-on-year.

    BYD Seal sold 18,796 units in October, up 66.82 percent year-on-year and up 30.28 percent from September.

    The BYD Seal initially went on sale in China on July 29, 2022, and deliveries began last August. BYD launched an updated version of the Seal available on May 10 and the hybrid Seal DM-i on September 6.

    In the January-October period, BYD Seal series sold 87,370 units, up 366.22 percent year-on-year.

    BYD’s flagship SUV Tang sold 10,573 units in October, down 38.39 percent year-on-year while up 1.58 percent from September.

    In the January-October period, the Tang family models sold 115,225 units, up 4.14 percent year-on-year.

    BYD Chaser 05 sold 7,966 units in October, down 12.57 percent year-on-year while up 0.2 percent from September.

    From January to October, BYD Chaser 05 sold 79,908 units, up 338.77 percent year-on-year.

    BYD Frigate 07 sold 4,247 units in October, an increase of 4.07 percent from September. The model was officially launched on December 19, 2022.

    In the January-October period, BYD Frigate 07 sold 65,100 units.

    BYD e2 sold 1,007 units in October, an increase of 406.03 percent from October. The compact NEV was launched on April 6 and has accumulated sales of 15,906 units so far.

    BYD’s premium brand Denza sold 11,500 units in October, down 12.59 percent from September.

    Denza D9 MPV sold 10,063 units, N7 SUV sold 1,079 units and N8 SUV sold 358 units in October.

    From January through October, Denza sold 104,068 vehicles.
